The healthcare sector is one in which MAC has extensive experience and over the years we have been proud to deliver countless fantastic projects in this sector. Once such example is The Harbour – a state-of-the-art medical facility situated on the Fylde Coast in Blackpool.
On this prestigious new build scheme, MAC were selected by the Lancashire Care NHS Trust to install over 20,000m2 of roofing works including standing seam roofing, monolithic hot melt, polymeric single ply, cold applied liquids and green roofing. Thanks to MAC’s versatile skillset we were also able to take on the traditional pitched slating element of the job, as well as the external wall cladding.
The client and main contractor were particularly impressed MAC’s pro-active problem solving approach on this project. For example, our in-house Technical Team suggested an improved design for the ‘bullnose’ details at the eaves of the metal roofing that allowed for simpler installation with more effective waterproofing. This early design input from MAC helped save considerable time and money for the client.
This project is an excellent example of how multiple roofing systems can be effectively specified and installed onto one high profile solution, combining to provide the very best long-term waterproofing.
